The industry giant Spotify, which started its commercial life with music-oriented content, does not want to be limited to music only. The company, which has made significant investments in the emerging trend podcast concept, is now releasing audiobooks.
Spotify audiobooks are coming
Audiobooks, which we can call digital recordings with audio narration, have been on the internet for a long time. In addition to the comfort of listening to a book on the go, it is an option preferred by people with certain disabilities.
Spotify also started working on the audiobook concept. The new concept, called Bookcast, gave its first fruit this week. The digital book Run, Rose, Run by Dolly Parton and James Patterson is now available.
Run, Rose, Run is a novel that will normally be released on March 7. Spotify made an agreement with the author and transferred it to the digital world. The novel tells the story of a musician who moves to Nashville as he struggles with a secret that was an inspiration but could also ruin his plans.
Dolly Parton prepared the soundtrack album of the audio book decorated with musical elements. All chapters of the book, the first two chapters of which have been published, will be completed by March 7. The first two tracks of the soundtrack album are also available. It will be fully accessible on March 4th.
