The podcast deal with famous publisher Joe Rogan continues to give Spotify a headache. Spotify, which lost important names such as Neil Young after broadcasting anti-vaccination, is now on the agenda with racism-oriented discourses.
Spotify’s challenge with podcast
Spotify, which made an important deal with Joe Rogan and risked losing important names like Neil Young for it, seems to have played a little wrong horse. When it was revealed that Rogan was making racist rhetoric, a major cleanup began.
While Spotify deleted 70 podcasts signed by JRE in the first place, 43 more broadcasts were deleted afterwards. The publications are generally from previous dates because it is stated that the most recent publications are still available.
However, publications with anti-vaccine opinions were not deleted. Spotify’s COVID criteria are a bit broader so they’re presumed to be left untouched, but racism could pose a big problem.
