Spotify, the world’s most popular digital music service, continues to be equipped with new features every day. Aiming to improve the user experience, Spotify is now working on the Offline Mix feature for users with slow internet connections.
What is Spotify’s new Offline Mix feature?
Sometimes your internet connection can suddenly slow down or be cut off completely when you are outside. This is enough to infuriate especially those who listen to songs. Spotify is working on the Offline Mix feature for exactly this.
Spotify’s CEO, Daniel Ek, announced the new Offline Mix feature with his official Twitter account today. According to Ek, this feature saves data when the internet connection is slow so you don’t miss out on music.
The Offline Mix feature automatically adds your most recently listened songs to a playlist called “Your Offline Mix”. It is stated that the duration of this playlist will be a maximum of 3.5 hours and will be activated when the internet connection is weak.
There is no information about how the feature works exactly. However, since it was developed for users with a slow internet connection, it is thought that the songs in this playlist will be automatically downloaded to the phone. This makes it possible to listen offline and save data.
So what is the difference between Offline Mix and Offline Listening feature? Because it seems that both offer the opportunity to listen to songs without an internet connection. This creates a question mark in the minds of users.
That being said, the difference between the two is that Office Mix automatically downloads only the most recently listened songs, not the ones you choose. Because in the Offline Listening feature, you choose the music. Spotify will share more details soon.
Spotify is currently testing the Offline Mix feature and has been released for some users, according to what’s been streamed. You can check this by logging into the application. On the other hand, it is not known when it will be available to everyone.
Spotify aims to improve the user experience with this feature developed for users with slow internet connections. So what do you guys think about this issue? How did you find the new Offline Mix feature? Do you think it will be useful? You can share your views with us in the Comments section below.
