Musicians can use Spotify’s artist profile pages to promote products and concert dates, in addition to the latest songs and playlists. Soon they will also be able to use these pages to promote NFTs.
As first reported by Music Ally, Spotify has started testing NFT galleries. The feature is available to some US users on Android and includes Web3 fans like Steve Aoki in testing.
People who have access to the test can view the galleries by visiting one of the artists participating in the test and scrolling through the playlist. After touching an NFT, a larger version becomes visible in addition to a short description.
As The Verge points out, “See More” takes you to NFT’s OpenSea listing page. According to Music Ally, Spotify does not take commissions from sales, which contributes to facilitating sales during testing. A test is underway to help a small group of artists promote their existing third-party NFT offerings through their artist profiles,
said in a conversation with Spotify’s news source: “We routinely run a series of tests to improve artist and fan experiences. Some of these tests pave the way for a broader experience, and others serve only as an important learning function.”
