Cathie Wood’s company Ark Invest and 21Shares have filed for a spot Ether ETF.
Both companies plan to introduce the spot Ether ETF product to their customers through their application to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This application was the first spot Ether ETF application.
If approved by the SEC, the ETF will be traded under the ticker symbol ARKE.
In this period when spot Bitcoin ETF applications come one after another, the SEC is also facing great pressure. In particular, Grayscale’s victory in the lawsuit it filed after its proposal to convert the GBTC product into a spot Bitcoin ETF was rejected, put the regulator in a difficult situation. The SEC has to reconsider its decision for Grayscale.
The SEC announced a while ago that it had postponed its decision on 7 spot Bitcoin ETF applications.
