Across the Spider-Verse, the sequel to Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse, was released in the past few weeks. The production, which took Miles Morales to Spider-Man universes and showed us dozens of Spider-Man variants that we all know from different places, received great acclaim with its eye-catching visuals and story, as in the first movie. The film was also one of the best of the year for grossing, earning more than $503 million worldwide.

Now, a very interesting information about the movie has emerged. On social media, users began to share posts that multiple versions of the movie were shown in theaters.

Confirmed by the editor of the movie that there are multiple versions

After this rumor spread quickly, Andrew Leviton, one of the editing team of Across the Spider-Verse, confirmed that multiple versions of the movie were shown in theaters by quoting a video shared by a user. “I was wondering when people would notice,” said Leviton, who did not share how many versions were shown or why.

The shared video shows a scene featuring Miguel O’Hara (Spider-Man 2099). In this scene, O’Hara talks to his holographic companion, Lyla. At the end of the scene, there is a slight difference. The scene ends with Lyla pointing at Miguel in one and Lyla taking a selfie in the other. On the other hand, there are those who say that the dialogues of Scarlet Spider are different, and that there are similar different points in characters such as The Spot, Vulture and Spider-Punk.

There is no information on how many scenes are different. Also, we don’t know if it’s something specific to the US or whether it’s the case in movie theaters all over the world. If you watch the movie more than once in different places and notice something like this, you can share it with us in the comments section.

Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson. In the cast, we see names such as Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Brian Tyree Henry, Oscar Isaac, Jake Johnson. Let’s add that the second part of the movie, which ended in half, is expected to be released in March 2024 with the name “Beyond the Spider-Verse”. However, considering the time it took for the production of the series, there is a possibility that this date may be delayed.
