As the use of cryptocurrencies has become widespread, Spain has become the third largest crypto ATM centre, surpassing El Salvador.
One by one, countries are getting involved in the widespread use of cryptocurrencies. Although it has been slow to adopt as a payment method, progress is being made in usage. Countries that focused on cryptocurrencies with prohibitions, pressures and sanctions for a while started to act moderately. In this context, countries started to compete on crypto ATM.
Crypto Usage Rate Increases, Countries Compete
El Salvador, the country that showed the warmest approach to cryptocurrencies, fell to the fourth place in being a crypto ATM center. While the number of crypto ATMs increased in Spain, it raised the country to third place.
Spain hosts 215 crypto ATMs. On the El Salvador side, this number stands out as 212. According to data from CoinATMRadar, Spain has achieved 0.6 percent in global dominance in this space.
In addition, Spain is the leader in Europe, representing 14.65 percent of its global dominance in this field. Switzerland follows Spain with 144 crypto ATMs.
This year, 43 crypto ATMs were installed in Spain. It is aimed to increase this number to 300 by the end of the year.
