It will have 16 MW power and 11.5 MWh battery capacity
For the next two and a half years, the Armon Shipyard in Gijón will build these catamaran ships. Ships that will have four electric provocation units will have a total of 16 MW power and 11.5 MWh battery (8 MWh available) capacity. Ferries will be able to travel 18 miles (29 km) with a full battery. Each ship will also be equipped with four diesel generators with a total capacity of 11,200 kW to be substitutes in emergencies.
The batteries on the ships will have to be fully charged during one hour of pauses in the ports. Reducing the waiting will be placed in the recipe and Tangier ports, respectively, 8 MWh batteries supported by coastal power supplies that provide 5 MW and 8 MW, respectively. Thus, the charging time will be reduced to 40 minutes. In total, the system will have a 39 MWh battery capacity.
Ferries will have a 25 -meter beam width, 804 passengers and 225 vehicle capacity and 26 knots maximum speed. The catamaran ferry will increase passenger comfort and offer a wide interior with a T-Foil system that minimizes vertical movement.
