SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk, is ending the Crew Dragon spacecraft production, according to the emerging information. It is stated that the money spent on the production of the capsule, which is used to bring the crew to the International Space Station (ISS) and to bring the crew from the space station to Earth, will be spent on the development and production of new generation spacecraft.

Parts production will continue

A report by Reuters indicates that production will be halted following the completion of the last Crew Dragon capsule on SpaceX’s production line. However, the company will keep the production line ready in case re-production is required in the future.

Since Crew Dragon has a reusable structure, the company will continue to produce parts to ensure the continuity of flights by renewing its existing capsules. SpaceX will have four Crew Dragons in its fleet.
