South Korea’s official media regulation agency met with Meta Platforms on metaverse user security.

There were reports of Horizon World users being harassed while using the platform. Within the scope of blockchain developments and metaverse awareness, another problem faced by companies carrying out investments and developments was fraud. With the proliferation of security problems and negative feedback from users, South Korea and Meta will cooperate to find solutions.

Metaverse Brings Security Issues With It

Discussing metaverse issues, the parties discussed security and protection issues. Ahn Hyoung-Hwan from the South Korean Communications Commission requested Meta’s cooperation in securing emerging digital processes such as the metaverse.

Hyoung-Hwan and Meta official O’Connell discussed the importance of clear and precise processing of the algorithms behind digital platforms.

South Korea is also fighting digital crime. The South Korean Communications Commission launched a council on digital security earlier this year.

Meta Platforms, one of the biggest supporters of the metaverse world, operates Horizon Worlds, a metaverse platform powered by virtual reality technology, in parts of North America and Europe.
