Sony, whose name we do not hear as often as before in the world of smartphones, continues to launch its new flagship phone, which breaks new ground especially in camera, every year. The company introduced this year’s flagship Xperia 1 Mark IV today. The phone, which focuses especially on video shooters, also brought a first to smart phones.
Xperia 1 IV, developed by targeting content producers, included a camera setup that will offer the highest level of view for content. Of course, focusing especially on the camera on the phone does not mean that the hardware of the phone is left behind. Let’s take a closer look at Sony’s new monster.
Sony Xperia 1 Mark IV
Sony Xperia 1 Mark IV, which allows you to shoot cinematic images with as many devices as handheld, with 6.5-inch 4K resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate It comes with an OLED display. The processing power of what will be projected on this giant resolution screen and the camera, which we will discuss in detail, comes from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The device offers 12 GB of RAM as well as 512 GB of storage.
The most important thing that separates the Sony Xperia 1 Mark IV from these standard high-end phones is its camera. The phone will be the first smartphone to feature ‘true optical zoom’. Today, all smartphones will digitally process the image with artificial intelligence support while zooming, while Sony Xperia 1 IV will physically move its lenses for zooming. In this way, the image will emerge in its entirety.
The telephoto lens in the camera setup of the phone will also be different from those on the standard phone. While today’s phones do not allow us to adjust the focal length, Sony’s beast will allow you to adjust the focal length to 85 mm or 125 mm with its movable lens. In this way, you will be able to get an image exactly the way you want it.
All three cameras on the back of Sony’s new phone will be able to shoot videos in 4K resolution and 120 FPS. In addition to the cameras, each of which includes real-time object tracking, Optical SteadyShot image stabilization and Eye AF technologies, there will also be an RGB IR sensor that will allow artificial intelligence to adjust the white balance.
The front camera of the phone consists of an ExmorRS sensor with a resolution of 12 MP. Although the front camera also allows video shooting in 4K resolution, it is limited to FPS 30 when shooting with HDR.
