Sony today released updated images of the VR2 Sense controllers, along with the finished and finished design of the PlayStation VR2 headset. Hidekai Nishino, PlayStation Senior Vice President, said on the PlayStation blog that the harmonious design of both the headset and controllers has been developed to represent a 360-degree view of the virtual world. He added that the look and feel were designed to feel more in tune with the overall feel of PlayStation 5, albeit in a softer, body-friendly way.
Nishino wrote that great emphasis is placed on ergonomics and initial feedback from testing was positive. There’s also a new lens adjustment dial to help users maintain good eye comfort, and new vents to improve airflow. He concluded by saying that the new unit has a “single cable setup” that is supposed to make it a bit easier to set up and operate than the original PSVR.
Unfortunately it is not yet clear whether this will have an impact on pricing or other issues…
