A fight broke out between Microsoft and Sony, the leading names in the video game world. Microsoft filed a complaint against Sony in Brazil. In the statements made by the company, heavy accusations were made against Sony. Let’s take a look behind the scenes of what happened.

A filing by Microsoft to the Brazilian Economic Defense Administrative Council (CADE) on August 9 has emerged. In this application, Microsoft claimed that Sony was scattering money to prevent developers from switching to the Xbox platform. In other words, Sony was paying huge sums of money to developers, as a result of which it prevented games from coming to the Xbox ecosystem. There was no comment from Sony on the matter.

The accusations may not be true.

While Microsoft’s claims are important, they can also be unfounded. The important thing here is the contract between Sony and the developers. Sony may have included such a clause in the contract it signed with the developers. Which the company has already done for years. Some AAA games have been exclusive to the PlayStation ecosystem. If this situation continues, we can say that Microsoft’s claims will be unfounded. Because this would be a legal agreement, let’s say that Microsoft also makes such agreements from time to time.

However, the opposite situation may also occur here. Sony may not have mentioned such a thing in its contract with the developers. However, the company that pays underhand may have prevented some games from coming to the Xbox ecosystem. However, there is no evidence on this subject, at least for now, and all this is Microsoft’s claim.
