Sony IMX800 sensor, which was first included in the Honor 70 series, has also put an end to long-standing rumors. Contrary to expectations, although it is not a very large sensor, it is better than the current flagships.

What are the Sony IMX800 features?

Sony IMX800 sensor has a resolution of 54MP, that is, 8768×6144 pixels. By combining 4 pixels, detailed resolutions of 13.5MP or 12MP can be achieved. The 1/1.49-inch optical format is much smaller than the claimed 1/1.1 size, but larger than flagships like the Oppo Find X5 Pro and Galaxy S22+.

Pixels are 1 micron in size and can reach 2 microns with merging. Thus, the light performance increases. It provides an advantage in high-resolution sensors that have been on the market recently, as the pixel size is less than 1 micron.

Sony IMX800 sensor has been finalized, so the bigger sensor in the claims is up to the next models. For now, it is known that Sony will launch the IMX900 series before the end of the year and that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra model will be used for the first time.
