At a time when rising inflation has put consumers in trouble, Sony announced that it has increased the prices of PlayStation 5 in many countries and regions. The retail price of both PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition is increasing in the UK, Australia, Europe and other markets. In a blog post, Sony said that while the console has not seen a price increase in the US, the new prices will be in effect immediately.
Prices for the new PS5 are up £30 in the UK, AU$50 in Australia, €50 in Europe, CA$20 in Canada, around 10498 yen in Japan, 400 yuan in China, and $1000MXN in Mexico. PS5 Digital Edition prices also have comparable price increases.
