Nextorage, a subsidiary of Sony, first appeared last year. Nextorage, which came to light with SSD products for PlayStation 5 consoles, will apparently begin to appear on the PC side as well. Introducing the first high-capacity and high-speed SSD models, the company’s target is high-end consumers.

Nextorage offers extremely fast speeds
The Nextorage PCIe Gen 5.0 NVMe SSD model, showcased during the Tokyo Game Show, will use a standard M.2 form factor but will come in two options, copper or with a large heatsink. On the technical side, 10,000 MB/s read and 9,500 MB/s write speeds meet us. While these specifications are valid for the 2TB model of the family, 9,500 read and 8,500 write speeds will be offered for the 1TB version. In addition, Nextorage M2-2280 SSD products will be using the PCIe 5.0 x4 interface.
The company also has a model with 4TB storage option. This product will offer 7,300 MB/s read, 6,900 MB/s write speeds and IOPs ratings of up to 1.0 million. Sony’s subsidiary Nextorage will now offer storage options to both PlayStation consoles and the desktop market. We can say that its success on the computer side will of course be highly dependent on the pricing policy, but let’s underline that we do not have any price information and release date for now.
