While Sony was launching the PlayStation 5, it also shared many new features with gamers. While PS5 Accolades, called the praise feature, was one of them, this feature was offered to game lovers to increase the interaction of online players with each other.
The praise feature is based on the praise of one player’s performance by other players during the game. This feature, which brought a new competition system with the praise gathered among those who play games in multiplayer modes, unfortunately did not receive the expected attention, so Sony decided to remove it.
Regarding the decision, Sony says: “We did not see the level of use we expected for the feature. Therefore, we are reconsidering our efforts in this direction. We will encourage the community to continue to send positive messages to each other.”
Although we do not know exactly when the praise feature, which we understand that almost no one is using it, will lose its support on PlayStation 5, it is expected to be around the fall of 2022.
