Once upon a time, there were plenty of handheld console variants on the market. Today, investment in this field has decreased due to the number of mobile games and the features of smartphones. On the other hand, this has created a new market: mobile game controllers.

Sony is now entering this market with a special product for iPhones. The Japanese giant introduced the controller that will allow you to play the games of PlayStation, which is the leader of the console market, on phones. The controller called Backbone One can be used in games played with PS Remote Play.

Enjoying PlayStation on iPhone

In fact, Backbone, which already produces controllers for mobile devices, is working with Sony this time with a special controller for iPhone and PlayStation owners. This controller, called Backbone One, is Sony’s official iPhone game controller. If you have broadband internet and a PS4 or PS5 console, you can plug an iPhone into the Backbone One and play your games via the PS Remote Play application. Moreover, your iPhone and console do not have to be connected to the same network to use this feature.

Backbone One can also be used with app store games. It will be possible to use Backbone One for games on other platforms that support the controller. Among these games are productions such as Genshin Impact, Fantasian, Call of Duty: Mobile. Players will also be able to personalize their experience by downloading the controller app.

The Backbone One does not have its own battery, it will be powered by the iPhone. Although this causes the phone to drain a little faster, it eliminates the need to charge the controller separately. The controller is currently only available in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, with more to be added to these countries.
