The Sonic series, which was released in 2020 and first made fun of the internet with the design of the protagonist, finally met the big screen for the second time in April 2022. The third film of the series, which received an average score with both films by the audience, was announced recently. Today, the vision date of the new movie has been announced.
In the announcement shared on Sonic the Hedgehog’s official Twitter account, it was announced that the third movie will be released on December 20, 2024. On the other hand, many unknown points about the film unfortunately remained unknown. One of these points was the question of whether the famous comedian Jim Carrey would be in the new movie.

The film’s production company, Paramount Pictures, did not share any information about the cast and crew behind the film. The last two films were written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller and directed by Jeff Fowler, while starring the likes of Idris Elba, James Marsden, and Colleen O’Shaughnessey.
It is unknown whether Jim Carrey is retired:
Jim Carrey, who plays Doctor Robotnik in Sonic movies, shared that he was seriously considering retiring from acting after Sonic 2, in a previous statement. Carrey has not shared any statement on this matter so far. On the other hand, the names behind the series said that Jim Carrey will always be one of the Sonic family and shared that he will be in the series ‘as long as he wants’.
