Some people don’t have an inner voice as we think: how can this scientifically be possible?

Considering that even individuals with speech impaired have an inner voice, there may be nothing natural than there is a sound in the heads of people.

But the truth is not boundary. Because you even read this article with your inner voice, some people follow quietly with their eyes…

It is known that at least 5 %of the society does not have inner sound.

We are aware that it sounds a little interesting, even difficult to believe. However, scientific research proves that not everyone has an inner voice. Moreover, this is known as “anendophazi ında in the world of science.

First of all, you need to look at what the inner sound is. The inner sound, which we know as a monologue, is our ability to quietly repeat without hearing the words. This inner sound, which is found in multiple human beings, is not found in a small part of the society.

What does the research say?

A study of Johanne Nedergard and Gary Lupeyan examined the effects of inner sound deficiency on cognitive performance. In the experiments with a total of 93 subsidiarists, 46 people without internal voice and 47 people reporting high internal sound activity were compared. The participants were asked to remember the words with sound or spelling similarity. Individuals who had no sound showed an obvious failure in this mission.

In the other tasks that required attention, the consequence of the two clusters was: the inner sound is critical in the mission that is only linked to language and memory. Compared to Nedergard, people who had no inner voice developed different strategies to count with finger movements in these missions.

FMRI studies show that the inner sound creates activation in the Superior Temporal Girus and Left Inferior Frontal Girus areas of the brain.

These regions also come into play during the usual speech. While establishing internal dialogue ourselves, the hearing cortex is activated, while the internal monologue remains lower.

While some experts adopt the “universal” opinion about the inner voice, the information does not support this view. Although the minority of people does not have an inner sound, this also gives incredible information about the diversity of the human mind.

Moreover, this is something that will be envied for those who have never been silent.
