Solana Announces The Release Date Of Her Phone
Solana Labs is putting its blockchain-based phone, Saga, up for public sale. Unlike other devices that aim to bring crypto into people’s pockets, Saga comes with the “Solana Mobile Stack” (SMS), a set of special add-ons that integrate the use of crypto with its hardware and software. SMS will introduce built-in security features for sending, receiving and storing cryptocurrencies on the device.
Another feature of Saga is its own dApp store. The DApp store will only contain crypto apps. Solana also stated that it will not charge extra for apps in this store.
Solana continues to develop Saga’s features. The company added that the device will be offered with more applications and features in the future. The release of Saga could serve as a precedent for other major phone manufacturers that have previously failed in their efforts to create crypto-based smartphones.
