According to an email sent to users, an unauthorized person reached the Solana Foundation by Mailchimp and exported user data.

“Based on information we receive from Mailchimp, affected information may include email addresses, names and Telegram usernames to the extent users provide to us. There is no issue with passwords and credit card information.”

The number of users affected by the incident is unclear. Solana and Mailchimp have also not made an official statement on the matter.

On December 13, a hacker gained access to 5,701,649 lines of information belonging to customers of cryptocurrency exchange Gemini.

Security problems in the crypto sector have increased significantly, especially in 2022. Mailchimp has similarly experienced similar security problems with various crypto companies.
