Meta has started NFT testing on Facebook with NFT artists in the US.
Meta, which started NFT support on Instagram last month, has now turned to Facebook. A spokesperson for Meta said in a statement that the company has started a trial period that allows select manufacturers in the US to post digital collections on Facebook. With this feature, creators will be able to showcase their NFTs on their profiles under a new tab.
The official launch comes a week after Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the company will soon be testing NFTs on Facebook. In his statement, Zuckerberg stated that NFT producers would be allowed to crosspost on Instagram and Facebook. However, the sharing feature is not yet available on both platforms.
No statement has been made on which blockchains will be supported on Facebook.
Meta stated that there will be no fees for publishing and sharing NFTs. The company also emphasized that digital collection posts will not offer an ad conversion feature for now.
