As you know, Apple announced its newest processor, Apple A17 Pro, as part of the Wonderlust event held last week. After this, we can say that all eyes turned to the response from Qualcomm and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Finally, Xiaomi Redmi K70, which has been the subject of leaks for a while, was tested with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

When we look at the leaked images, the Redmi K70 tested in Geekbench 5 carries the model number “23117RK66C”. However, the interesting point here is the core configuration of the device. So much so that the Cortex-X4 core and seven auxiliary cores running at 3.19GHz have confirmed that the smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform.

As for the shared scores, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 performs below expectations, with 1,100 in single-core and 5,150 in multi-core. Let us remind you that when we make a small comparison, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 has 1,479 and 4,803 points respectively. However, it is worth noting that this comparison was made on Geekbench 5. Therefore, we may see changes in final performance.

Previous leaks had pointed to a multi-core score reaching 7,400 in Geekbench 6. Therefore, we can say that the tested device is an engineering example running Android 14.

For those who don’t know, Qualcomm’s new flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform is expected to be introduced at the Qualcomm event on October 24. Therefore, we will have to wait a while longer for more details about the phones that will be powered by the new processor.
