It can now be used by Chinese brands as well.
According to leaker Digital Chat Station, this higher clocked version of Snapdragon Gen 2 will no longer be limited to Samsung phones only. It is claimed that the chip will become available to various Chinese smartphone manufacturers in the second half of this year. While the source of the leak did not reveal the names of the OEMs that will provide access to this chip, it is quite possible that brands such as ASUS, OnePlus, Redmagic and Xiaomi will be on the list.
This variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor used in the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra is 5% faster in terms of CPU and 5.7% faster in terms of GPU than the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The AI processing side is also stated to be faster. This gave the Galaxy S23 series a huge advantage in terms of single-core CPU performance and image processing.
Samsung plans to bring back Exynos chips with the Galaxy S24 next year. According to rumors, some Galaxy S24 models will use the Exynos 2400, while others will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. In the meantime, there is talk that the Exynos 2400 has a much faster GPU and power efficiency.
