It has finally become clear when the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which has been on the agenda with leaks for a while, will be introduced. Qualcomm announced that the Snapdragon Summit event will be held between November 15-17.
Another detail about the new processor is the AV1 (AOMedia Video 1) video codec support. AV1, an open source and royalty-free video encoding format developed by the Alliance, is used by Netflix and Google.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor has 1 high performance core, 3 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. According to the leaked information, Qualcomm will use 4 different processor cores in its new processor. It is also stated that the new processor will be produced with 4nm technology, as in Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor will use 1 ARM Cortex-X3, 2 ARM Cortex-A720, 2 ARM Cortex-A710 and 3 ARM Cortex-A510 cores. In the graphical interface, it is among the leaked information that the Adreno 740 will be used.
Chinese technology giant Xiaomi has started working to produce one of the first models to be released with the new processor, not breaking the tradition. Xiaomi 13 will be among the first phones to be introduced with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.
