Snapdragon 6 Genes 4 introduced with strong features
Qualcomm introduced the new mid -range mobile processor Snapdragon 6 Gen 4. The new chipset comes with significant improvements in many areas such as performance, efficiency, game performance, artificial intelligence and camera according to its predecessor.

Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 Features

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 promises higher energy efficiency than its predecessor with its 4NM production technology. The previous generation Snapdragon 6 gene 3 was produced with Samsung’s 4nm process. It also comes with important gains in terms of performance with the new Armv9 -based CPU cores. Previous generations used Armv8 designs (Cortex-A78/A55).

The processor has four performance core with the Cortex-A720 architecture. One of these quarters works 2.3 GHz and three at 2.2 GHz. In addition, there are four Cortex-A520 productivity cores operating at 1.8 GHz. With these new seeds, Snapdragon 6 gene 4 provides 11 %performance increase compared to its predecessor. It is also stated that it is 12 %more efficient.

On the graphic side, the new Adreno GPU brings a 29 %performance increase compared to its predecessor. However, Qualcomm did not explain the details of Adreno GPU. The new GPU contains modern technologies that improve the gaming experience with the Snapdragon Game Super Resolution (upgrade for up to 4K) and Adreno Frame Motion Engine (square production that doubles the square speed while keeping power consumption low).

The Snapdragon 6 gene 4, up to 16 GB LPDDR5 RAM (up to 3,200 MHz) and UFS 3.1 support the storage technology. It also supports USB-C 3.1, 10-bit color and HDR10+ features that offer external screen support at 4K 60 Hz. Included, Full HD+ resolution and renewal rate of up to 144 Hz are supported.

On the camera side, there is a triple 12 -bit ISP, which offers sensor support up to 200 MP. The new ISP allows 4K HDR video recording in 30 FPS. HDR10 and HLG formats for the video and 10 bit Heifs for photos. H265 and VP9 codecs are supported for video playback, but AV1 support is not available.

Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 is the first processor in the family that supports Int4. This feature allows the optimized artificial intelligence models with more parameters to fit into a limited amount of RAM. In this way, artificial intelligence models working on the device consume less memory.

The connection side supports the 5G modem, 6GHz (4×4 MIMO) and MMWave (2×2 MIMO) and up to 2.9GBPS. In addition, Bluetooth 5.4 with APTX adaptive features is also supported. The GPS receiver supports triple frequency positioning (L1/L5/L2).

Realme, Oppo and Honor, Snapdragon 6 gene 4 -based devices will be among the first smartphone manufacturers to release. In addition, India will be one of the first markets that the new processor will enter. Therefore, we can see the Snapdragon 6 gene 4 chipset even on very low price tagged phones.
