Snapchat is testing a paid subscription it calls Snapchat Plus (or Snapchat+) that will give you early access to experimental features like pinning certain conversations – custom icons.
The company has yet to reveal exactly what benefits Snapchat Plus users will have and how it will be rolled out, and made a general statement on those details: ” We’re running early in-house testing of Snapchat Plus, a new subscription service for Snapchat users. Exclusive, experimental with our subscribers. and we’re excited about the potential to share pre-release features and learn more about how we can best serve our community. ”
It’s unclear how Snapchat will differ from what it offers to Snapchat Plus subscribers who pay for the privilege to use the experimental and pre-release features, to those that are part of Snapchat’s current beta program, which is free. However, thanks to app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi , some details about Snapchat Plus may have emerged. In a group tweet, Paluzzi stated that the subscription will cost 4.59 euros per month or 45.99 euros per year.
Again, Paluzzi says, this membership includes features like a custom badge, pinning a profile as your #1 best friend so you can quickly send Snaps or chat, custom Snapchat icons, and being able to see how many of your friends have rewatched your story in the past 24 hours. gives you access. You can also see where your friends have been in the last 24 hours if they have location sharing enabled.
Snapchat isn’t the only social network trying to increase revenues through subscriptions. Last year, Twitter launched its paid plan called Twitter Blue, first in Australia and Canada, then in the US and New Zealand. Messaging app Telegram is also gearing up to launch its own subscription service this month.
