However, the meltdown in Facebook’s user numbers does not please anyone, including CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and they are looking for ways to fix it. Facebook, which went through a radical design change from A to Z in 2020, has now made another innovation.
What happened with Facebook desktop version?
In the desktop version of Facebook, the bar with options such as Notifications, Profile, Search, Messages, Menu, Settings is positioned on the left. This used to be in the upper right corner. While Facebook describes the change as “We’ve moved all your navigation options to one place”, it doesn’t offer an option to revert it.
When you click on one of the options on the left (eg Menu), the content now expands to the right and you can do whatever you want from here. As it will be remembered, when these options were in the upper right corner, they were expanding downwards. Now it is criticized for creating a chaotic image as it takes up more space on the screen.
Currently, the navigation bar on the interface of many platforms, including Twitter, Gmail, YouTube, is on the left. It remains unclear whether Facebook, which has insisted on not being similar to them until now, will make the same innovation in its desktop version in Android and iOS applications. There are no known design changes in Facebook’s mobile apps yet.
