Three-fold smartphone and foldable laptop patents have emerged recently that Samsung has applied for. The South Korean tech giant showcased its scrollable and rotatable screen that it introduced at CES 2022.
Samsung files patent for sliding screen
According to the leaked information, the sliding screen model to be offered to users will also include S Pen support. The application, which overlaps with the recently leaked Samsung patents, contains clues about the smart device that the company will soon offer to users.
The patent statement states that the phone will consist of two cases. The left edge houses a motor that allows the rollable screen to extend outward. The rear panel provides space for a significant portion of the floating screen.
On the front, there is a small screen for notifications on the right side of the phone. Analysts state that this screen can also be used to control applications.
Samsung has tested with a sliding screen in the past. Considering the company’s history of sliding screen devices, it is estimated that the prototype model will be available to users in 2022.
