You may have heard of the ‘simulation hypothesis’ that the world we live in, even the universe, is the product of a simulation created by other beings. Similar to this idea, which was first introduced by René Descartes in series such as The Matrix, has taken place in a different style in most religions. Based on this hypothesis, which has been discussed many times by different scientists, a theory has recently been put forward.
Avi Loeb, from Harvard University’s astronomy department, came up with an interesting and equally frightening theory. Expressing that the universe may have been produced in a ‘laboratory’, Loeb said that it could have been made by ‘upper class’ beings.
A theory that has not yet been proven but has not been disproved.
In his article, Avi Loeb mentioned that humans are ‘C-class’, that is, a civilization dependent on the planet they emerged. Loeb, who called the civilizations that became independent of the sun of this planet as class B, mentioned that class A civilizations could create baby universes out of nothing with techniques such as ‘quantum tunneling’ in a kind of laboratory. The term “creation out of nothing” fits with explanations of how gods in many religions created the universe. If Loeb’s theory is proven, the religious term ‘creative’ and the more secular term ‘quantum gravity’ may come to be used in the same sentence.
There are still many hurdles in front of our development to be class A in terms of technology. The fact that we are not yet able to create a large enough dark energy density within a small region is one of them. Expressing that we will join our A-class ‘creators’ if we can overcome this, Avi Loeb explains where he started when he put forward the theory as follows: “Since our universe has a flat geometry with zero net energy, an advanced civilization may have created it as a baby universe out of nothing through quantum tunneling. . ”
