It was seen that the Şimşek unmanned aerial vehicle was positioned under the wings of ANKA UAV in the exhibition area of the EFES 2022 exercise. The integration work of Şimşek to ANKA UAV has been completed.
Defense Industry President İsmail Demir shared the release images of Şimşek UAV integrated into ANKA UAV. Şimşek UAV successfully reached the desired location in the drop tests carried out many times.
The Lightning Target Aircraft System has the ability to carry different payloads and to deceive the enemy radar. With the engine on it, it can reach a speed of 350 kts and stay in the air for 45 minutes . It operates between 50 ft (15 m) and 20,000 ft (6100 m) altitude. Thanks to the autonomous return home feature, it returns to the designated point and makes an automatic landing. In this way, it can be used over and over again. TUSAŞ is also working on the version of ŞİMŞEK that can reach supersonic speed.
