NASA came up with a new discovery about Europa, one of Jupiter’s moons. Water vapor was detected on Europa during observation with the Hubble Space Telescope.

Is there life on Jupiter’s moon Europa?

The atmospheric structure of the Europa satellite, which has an ocean beneath its icy surface that could offer favorable conditions for life, is being studied.

Water vapor was first detected in 2013 on Europa, which is about 1 billion km from the Sun. The sections, which draw attention with their similarity to the geysers on Earth, can raise water vapor up to 100 kilometers high.

Hubble observations from 1999 to 2015 show that similar amounts of water vapor were emitted over a larger area of Europa.

The discovery of water vapor in the atmosphere of Jupiter’s moon Ganymede was recently made by Lorenz Roth of the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Space and Plasma Physics.

This detection is announced to be in-depth exploration of Europa by future probes, including NASA’s Europa Clipper and the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer (JUICE) mission.
