Apple and Google have prepared an industry standard to prevent unwanted tracking with such accessories. This standard includes certain rules and sends alert notifications to iOS and Android devices when an unwanted tracking event occurs.
In the development of the standard, feedback will be received from device manufacturers and different non-governmental organizations will be involved in the process. Documents have been submitted to the IETF – Internet Task Force consortium and approval is expected within 3 months. Afterwards, Apple and Google will complete and publish the relevant rules. In the same period, updates will be sent to the iOS and Android versions. Other manufacturers such as Samsung and Tile are also expected to support this standard.
