Shiba Inu (SHIB) owners will now be able to use their assets at Latin American travel company Despegar, thanks to the Binance partnership.
According to a post by Binance.ES on its Twitter account, Despegar has included cryptocurrency payments as a new option for its customers in Argentina. This move was made in collaboration with Binance and Inswitch.
Payments Can Be Made Through BinancePay
With this move, Despegar becomes the first online travel agency in Latin America to accept cryptocurrency payments through both the website and the app. This new option will gradually be implemented in other countries where Despegar does business. As a result of this partnership, Despegar users will be able to use Binance Pay to pay using the cryptocurrency of their choice.
Binance Pay announced support for SHIB in November 2022. In this way, SHIB users can perform transactions such as sending and receiving payments with Binance Pay.
In addition to these developments, Wirex, which has 5.5 million users in more than 130 countries, celebrated SHIB’s first anniversary on the platform. The platform included the following statements in its share: “Happy shibtoken anniversary in Wirex. For over a year, 5.5 million Wirex users have been able to trade SHIB from 81 million retailers worldwide.”
Wirex expanded its ecosystem in March last year to enable users to access SHIB across apps, wallets and payment platforms.
