A recent blog post has revealed the latest updates on the Shiba Inu (SHIB) layer-2 network, Shibarium. The update was also shared by MILKSHAKE, a popular Shiba Inu advocate.
Key developments in the Shiba Inu ecosystem shared
According to the blog, the Unification team continues to play an important role in the development of the Shibarium network, continuing its core efforts to enable open source applications with broad value. Shibarium, which will be the “premium L2” for the SHIB token community, will enable fast, low-cost transactions tailor-made for the game in collaboration with the Shib Army. The Testnet project is expected to go live in the next few months, with a public beta release shortly thereafter. While the exact launch timeline is not given, the network is expected to launch publicly this year.
According to Shiba Inu developer, there is currently a lot of behind the scenes with mobile ecosystem. a lot of hard work, but they are in the process of deploying the second dedicated Alpha Testnet to be used for network testing. Apart from that, all necessary tools for end-user interaction such as wallets, block explorers, token transfer bridges are being developed. After these are prepared and implemented, there will be some special invitations sent to trusted testers.
Shiba Inu plans for 2022
Apart from the Shibarium, there are a number of other versions of the Shiba Inu planned for 2022. They’ve already entertained their fans with an upcoming play-to-win game in development with William David Volk, who has previously worked with Activision game studios.
