The Shiba Inu (SHIB) has sank 7 percent in the last 24 hours after claims that Shibarium is a “duplicated” chain. While everyone is waiting for an explanation regarding the allegations in question, the SHIB developer made a confession about the beta chain ID. Here are the details…

SHIB community agitated by Shibarium allegations

Shibarium is a layer 2 project that aims to bring scaling, speed, lower fees and additional development capacity to the Ethereum chain. PuppyNet launched its beta test on March 11th. However, as documented by “Rancune_eth”, the Shiba Inu Discord has been awash with heated posts following an allegation that SHIB developers had stolen Rinia’s code. Rancune_eth’s tweet also included screenshots of community members alleging that project leader Shytoshi was manipulating the community while not explaining it to the team.

Senior community members accused Shibarium testnet of taking the Rinia testnet genesis file and renaming it. Trophias, another former Shiba Inu developer, accused the metaverse team of buying assets without modification. As a result, according to the post on Discord, “Shibarium is a cloned chain from Rinia” because they “forgot to change the chain ID.” The allegations came from a Discord member named “Steve” who pointed out that Shiba Inu’s genesis file has the same chain ID as Rinia. As we reported earlier this morning, Steve used the following statements:

This ID is completely unique and Metamask and other wallet applications use it to determine which network to send transactions.

Chain ID not changed

STEVE said it looks like the Shiba Inu team took Rinia’s testnet build file and changed its name. Most importantly, the team forgot to change the chain id. STEVE said that using an existing chain ID means that users interacting with your chain will interact with the copied chain. “Rinia has been on the air since February and has this chain identity. His identity was scheduled for December,” he added. STEVE claims there’s no way this could happen without Shytoshi or developer Kaal Dhairya keeping in touch with the Rinia team and fooling them in some way.

Discord user “Trophias (PDT -8),” who describes himself as a staff member on the metaverse team, said that neither he nor his colleagues knew what was going on. Trophias (PDT -8) said that the entire team was fired by Shytoshi but “Marcie” was not fired by the team. Management did not give clear answers to the team due to uncertainty about whether to be fired and subsequently fired.

“There’s a lot that you don’t know, that has been silenced,” said Trophias (PDT -8) rather mysteriously. However, he declined to comment further, saying that things will unfold sooner or later. Still, it was revealed that Shytoshi “manipulated against the entire team with slanderous lies.”

The developer responded to the claims

Responding to the event, the developer passed it off as FUD. He explained that several “chain IDs were randomly selected” during development. None of these were received at that time. Agreed that it was an omission not to double-check the chain ID at the testnet launch. “I was wrong not to double-check when the Puppynet network was started,” he said. It revealed that several chain IDs were randomly chosen during Alpha network deployment. These chain IDs are as follows: 417 (Alpha), 517 (Staging), 917 (pre-pod/beta). No comments were made regarding the allegations of ill-treatment, manipulation or falsehood of the personnel.

The developer will redeploy the new version of the Shibarium Beta network with a new chain ID, which will take a week. He also said that since it is still in Beta, there will be many changes and he hopes the new one will be a better Shibarium Layer-2 Blockchain.
