It has emerged that a new and effective feature is coming to YouTube, the world’s most popular online video application. The feature, which is currently in testing, will allow you to use YouTube like Shazam. So what exactly is Shazam? What does it do?
Shazam, which was a very popular application for a while, allows you to learn which song belongs to the melodies you listen to. That’s exactly what YouTube’s new feature in testing will do. When the user hums a song through the YouTube application or listens to a source, he will be able to learn what that song is in seconds.
3 seconds of playback will be enough to find the song
According to the information obtained, the song finding feature to be added to the YouTube application can be used very simply. The user, who will touch the search button in the application, will touch the voice search option in the second stage. Here, the user will be presented with an option to “search for new songs”. This option will turn YouTube into Shazam. Humming a song for at least 3 seconds or playing it from another source will be enough for the song to be searched in the YouTube database.
The feature of YouTube in the testing phase is currently available in a very limited area. The feature, which can only be tested in the Android ecosystem for now, is expected to come to the iOS ecosystem in the near future. When all users of the feature will be is a big mystery for now.
