Serena Williams, one of the most successful tennis players of all time, is working with Block Inc’s money transfer service provider Cash App to give women and people of color greater financial access to Bitcoin (BTC). Williams describes the leading cryptocurrency as a “super strong investment.”

Jack Dorsey-led firm Block announced its collaboration with the tennis superstar at the Miami Bitcoin Conference. Williams expresses hope that the initiative will give women and people of color who are not as engaged with the crypto industry as men of color additional access to Bitcoin opportunities. Williams, who has also won 23 Grand Slams, states that BTC is the most important value of the limited 21 million token supply. According to him, the world of cryptocurrencies is constantly evolving, but this progress is mainly driven by Bitcoin.
It’s worth noting that Williams’ husband is Alexis Ohanian, Co-Founder of Reddit and a supporter of the digital asset universe. Earlier this year, his company raised $500 million to “double” investments in cryptocurrency startups. Explaining that he has invested some of his fortune in Ethereum before that, Ohanian argues that it is the most promising Blockchain protocol in the field at the moment:
I think Ethereum will be at most for at least the next year or two to really prove or not. at least it has the potential to show something, because there are a lot of interesting applications.

The tennis superstar had another engagement with the crypto industry in January alongside Bitcoin (BTC). He became the next celebrity to buy the Bored Ape NFT, the latest trend in the cryptocurrency market. Williams even changed his Twitter profile picture with the tamarin he acquired. Turns out the digital collection was gifted to Williams by her husband, Alexis Ohanian, who commented under her post:
First I’m getting you SerenaPunk, now I’m getting you the tamarin you wanted… you do realize that from now on I’m only going to gift you NFT, right? ?
