In our news that we share with you from time to time, we talk about air taxis under development. It is believed that these planes, which are generally small and can carry only a few people, will become real means of transportation in the future. It is not known whether this situation will one day be true, but the companies’ work on aircraft continues at full speed. In fact, the company named Wisk Aero has officially introduced a new “flying taxi”. The company describes this aircraft as the world’s first autonomous, electric and four-seater air taxi.

Wisk Aero is one of the companies that continues to work on aircraft. Founded in 2019, the company survived with the support of Kittyhawk, the initiative of Boeing and Google co-founder Larry Page, and has done remarkable work to this day. Here today’s event showcased Wisk Aero’s latest flying taxi.

Introducing Wisk Aero’s newest aircraft

The new generation flying taxi, which has a structure with 12 vertical engines, has the capacity to carry four passengers. The flying taxi, which can reach a speed of approximately 140 km / h, can fly one kilometer above the ground. An autopilot controls the aircraft. It should be noted that this autopilot will operate under the supervision of a real pilot located at the headquarters of Wisk Aero.

According to the statements of Wisk Aero, the company will start to use aircraft actively in the next 5 years. The company, which thinks that it will fly to 20 countries in the first stage, aims to perform 14 million flights per year. According to analysts, flying taxis will have a volume of 150 billion dollars by 2035. However, there are some very serious problems here.

To date, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has not licensed any flying taxis. Wisk Aero states that the latest aircraft it introduced is the most advanced and closest to obtaining an FAA license to date. If this is really the case and Wisk Aero’s flying taxi gets a license, we can easily say that a brand new page will be opened for companies like Uber.
