Teacher Yasin Temoçin, who prepared a project on zero waste and recycling in Yozgat, introduces students to technology in the classroom he created from waste electronic materials.

Yozgat Ayşe Ilıcak Anatolian Girls’ Imam Hatip High School and Secondary School science teacher Temoçin prepared the Technology Innovation Dumpster Project in order to improve students’ manual skills on end-of-life technological products and to enable them to create new products with innovative thinking.

In the classroom created within the scope of the project, secondary school students disassemble and reassemble the parts of various electronic devices, especially idle computers, and create new products using old parts.

Temoçin also creates a Scientific Curiosity Cup class equipped with intelligence games at the school, ensuring that students have an enjoyable time.

Temoçin said that the class, in which they aimed to discover the engineers of the future and spark scientific curiosity, attracted great interest from the students.

Stating that students have the opportunity to get to know electronic devices closely by disassembling and assembling them, Temoçin said, “They learn about the parts inside the computer. Our main focus is for the student to be in touch with science and to realize that they will produce something new.” said.

Temoçin stated that the project came 3rd among 244 projects in the Imam Hatip Schools Successful Examples Competition organized by the General Directorate of Religious Education in Ankara on October 17.
