Bitcoin supporter Hester Peirce, a member of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), spoke about the SEC’s stance on Bitcoin ETFs.
SEC member Peirce, known for his pro-Bitcoin rhetoric, discussed the SEC’s distance about Bitcoin ETF products. Peirce says it is surprising that the institution rejects such products, while he thinks that Bitcoin is mature enough. In his statement on the subject, Peirce made the following statements:
“It is time for the commission to stop categorically rejecting products traded on the crypto exchange. The commission’s resistance to the spot bitcoin ETP has become almost legendary.”
Peirce also said the agency’s stance on this type of product was surprising. Saying that the situation is confusing for many observers, Peirce stated that the Bitcoin market has matured and become more liquid. Additionally, he reiterated that he is optimistic that the institution will change its stance on this issue.
