According to Barron’s report, SEC Chairman Gensler’s statements to be made tomorrow have been leaked. According to the source, Gensler continues to view many crypto assets as securities and many crypto exchanges as securities exchanges. Gensler’s stance means that crypto platforms will have to register with the SEC.
Gary Gensler continues to be criticized by the crypto industry for his long-standing policy of “regulation through sanctions”.
