WhatsApp continues to gain new features all the time. Some of these features are the ability to transfer WhatsApp data between Android and iOS devices, and the ability to log into the same WhatsApp account on up to four devices. Now the company seems to be working on the screen sharing feature.

According to the news of WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to share their smartphone’s screen with others during a video call. This feature is currently available to those who have the latest beta version of WhatsApp (2.23.11.19) on their Android smartphones. The feature makes it easy for users to show things on their phones to others via video call. This screen sharing can be especially useful for getting help from others while doing things on the phone.

How is it working?

A new icon appears at the bottom of the screen during a video call. After clicking on this icon, you are greeted with a new drop-down menu that asks your permission to show your phone’s screen and informs you that all the content on the screen can be seen by other people in the video call. You have full control over screen sharing and you can stop it by clicking the Stop Sharing button during the call.

This feature is very similar to Google Meet’s Live Share feature that was introduced a few years ago. Apple also has a similar feature called SharePlay on devices running iOS, iPadOS and macOS.

WhatsApp’s new screen sharing feature can really help a lot of users, especially the elderly or children who might need help getting things done using their phones.
