Microsoft has started testing a new version 11.2211.35.0 of the Snipping Tool for Windows 11. The new version brings with it the ability to record videos from the computer screen.

The update is currently only available to Windows Insider members on the Dev Channel. However, since its distribution has just begun, it may not have reached all users yet.

Video recording with the Snipping Tool

To use the new feature, you first need to open the Snipping Tool and click on the Recording option. Then you select the area of the screen you want to record and continue. When you’re done, you can take a look at how the file looks before saving it.

There are a number of issues as it is a preview version. According to Microsoft, some users may experience a slight delay between pressing the ‘Start’ button and the immediate start of video recording. The company will eliminate such problems in new versions.
