When we love dogs, which we have defined as our greatest friend for centuries, many of us feel positive. Although this is an accepted fact among the public, today the scientific world has officially proven it.
In their small-scale studies, scientists closely followed the “prefrontal cortex”, the part of our brain that collects, integrates, applies, supervises and judges information from all nervous system activities.
Petting a dog stirs our emotions:
A total of 19 participants participated in the study, the control group loved a toy lion named Leo. A hot water bag has also been added to give the toy a more realistic feel inside. However, there was no change in activity in the prefrontal cortex of the brain when the toy was loved.
Participants who liked a real dog had a different result. In the observation, it was observed that the activity in this part of the brain increased significantly when the participants liked dogs. This meant that dog lovers were more emotionally active during this action.
