China, which launched a rocket into orbit for the Space Station last week, allowed the rocket piece to enter the Earth’s atmosphere uncontrollably. Parts of the Long March 5B rocket crashed harmlessly into the Indian Ocean, but China’s stance provoked reactions from the whole world.

The Chinese Space Agency said the remnants of Long March 5, which was launched in recent weeks, will fall to Earth. Although experts emphasized that it would not pose any danger, it was remarkable that it allowed space debris to fall uncontrollably.

According to the post by the US Space Command, the Long March 5 re-entered the Indian Ocean on July 30. It crashed off the island of Palawan, in the Philippines, in the North Pacific. The rocket was carrying a laboratory module to China’s space station Tiangong.
Many institutions, especially NASA Administrator Bill Nelson, criticized this uncontrolled attitude of the Asian country. “The People’s Republic of China has not shared orbital information regarding the return of the Long March 5B rocket to Earth,” Nelson said in a statement.
But the potential debris impact of heavily loaded vehicles such as the Long March 5B, which poses “a fairly high risk of loss of life and property,” should not be overlooked, according to Nelson. It was not dangerous as most of the debris burned in the atmosphere, but even falling to Earth is dangerous.
China has successfully launched its second module, named Wentian, to the Tiangong space station. The Wentian module contains hardware that allows Chinese astronauts, also known as taikonauts, to conduct various scientific experiments during their time on the station. There was no way to direct or control the tracks left by the Long March 5B.
