Identity theft and deceiving people by pretending to be someone else on the internet, unfortunately, is a situation that hundreds of people face every day. While some commit this crime to gain followers, others try to make money by taking advantage of it.

The small-scale Instagram celebrity known as Vincent or ‘White Plastic’ is among those who benefit from this situation and earn a significant amount of money. It’s kind of shocking to what he said on a show where White Plastic confronts its victims.

“You are stupid enough to post nude photos”

Targeting low-follower Influencers on Instagram and YouTube, White Plastic (which I’ll refer to as WP for the rest of the article) claims that the people it ensnares deserve it. Confronting his 3 victims on the TV show he participated in, WP tries to justify himself by saying that he does not regret what he has done and “If you are sending nude photos to people you do not know on the Internet, you deserve to be deceived”.

Diamond, one of WP’s victims, explains that after receiving a message from a famous content producer named Deleonardis, he thought she was talking to him and that he fell in love with her and then sent her nude photos at his request. WP, who took the photos, admits that he made hundreds of dollars by selling these photos on several websites.

I have salaried employees

White Plastic says on the program that it has salaried employees for Catfishing (the process of tricking people into collecting and obtaining information about them on the Internet), who help them “keep their job” by getting information about targets and them. Likewise, WP admits that it has talked to many celebrities and deliberately “hunted” the “homophobic, racist and similar” people they showed to it.

WP sees this scam as a legitimate business and claims that its victims are fully deserved and have done nothing wrong. Saying that he earns thousands of dollars a month, but does not consider himself a bad person, WP states that while talking to his victims, he sends them flowers, chocolates and make-up items and wins their hearts.

Although there is no legal penalty for impersonating someone online, under US law, impersonating people online can be punished with a $10,000 fine or up to 5 years in prison. Although all 3 victims who participated in the program stated that they would sue White Plastic, he argues that what he did was completely legal.

So do you think what White Plastic is doing is legal? Do not forget to indicate your ideas in the comments.
