Western Digital sub-brand SanDisk announced today its modular SSD system, similar to the structure of NAS devices. The system consisting of main enclosure and socket SSD drives is aimed at professionals.
SanDisk PRO-BLADE SSD Mag and TRANSPORT
The SanDisk PRO-BLADE TRANSPORT enclosure is a slot for Mag drives. You can install up to 4 SSD Mag sockets and it can offer data transfer speeds up to 2000MB/s.
SanDisk Extreme PRO cards break speed record
You can replace the SSD Mag sockets without interruption and thus you get flexible capacity. While 20Gbps data transfer can be made with USB Type-C, you can also connect cameras that can record directly to the sockets.
Endurance oriented SSD Mag sockets are sold separately and you can buy them integrated in the TRANSPORT enclosure if you want. SSD Mag sockets and SanDisk PRO-BLADE TRANSPORT enclosure prices are as follows:
