Sandisk announced the SSD roadmap: 512 tb is coming in 2027
While HDDs are trying to approach 40 TB storage capacity with great challenges, SSDs have already reached 128 TB. Sandisk plans to double it next year and to offer 512 TB SSD as of 2027.

1 PETABAYT SSD is on the road

Sandisk has already announced that it has SSD models with a capacity of 128 TB. However, these models are not yet available and are planned to be available in the third quarter of 2025. Then the model with a capacity of 256 TB in 2026 will be launched. In 2027, the SSD model with a capacity of 512 TB will be available.

These solutions are based on the new generation BICS8 QLC NAND memory technology. It is possible to store 256 GB data on a single chip. This means the highest storage density so far. In the future, the company aims to offer a SSD with a capacity of 1 PETABAYT (1000 TB). However, a clear time schedule has not yet been determined for this product.
